DELTA overview

The Action Alliance is one of 14 state domestic violence coalitions to receive funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for the DELTA Project. The purpose of the DELTA Project is to stimulate the implementation of activities in Virginia communities to prevent intimate partner domestic violence. DELTA seeks to build upon the success of community teams addressing criminal justice interventions, expanding their efforts to include a multidisciplinary approach to primary prevention in communities. To accomplish this goal, the Action Alliance has entered into contractual agreements with 15 Virginia community teams to develop prevention plans in their communities. The coalition will be supporting this effort through quarterly meeting/training sessions as well as on-site training in local communities. These quarterly meetings and on-site training sessions are available to all Virginia communities upon request. The 15 Virginia coordinated community response teams receiving DELTA funds include:
